Sadag calls for IT support

JOBURG - The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (Sadag) is calling for help from IT specialists for support on the structure surrounding their call centre.

The organisation’s call centre is operated for residents who need assistance with mental health and related issues. Although the group is based in Sandton, the centre fields up to 12 000 calls a month from all over South Africa and even further afield.

Spokesperson for the organisation, Amanda Chikara said, “As Sadag is a non-profit organisation, it struggles to make ends meet and many of the tasks are performed by trained volunteers, many of them students in the field of psychology.”

In order to keep the IT structure in the organisation relevant, Sadag is in need of one or more persons or a company who can help with repairs and the maintenance of their computers and other technology in the office.

Chikara added, “We call on anyone with knowledge in this field and who wants to make a contribution to contact us to discuss our requirements. We are a registered non-govermental organisation and you can claim off your tax.”

Sadag is also looking for a sponsor who could assist with the donation of six computers and a router for their call centre. They have a Level 4 B-BBEE Certification so any donations of any kind or time can be tax-deductible.

Details: If you feel that you can be of help, please call Naazia Ismail at the centre on 011 234 4837 or e-mail info@sadag.org.za
