Business as usual for Pikitup during the upcoming holidays

JOBURG - Pikitup continues work on upcoming holidays

Pikitup today announced that household refuse collection and garden sites would operate as normal during the two upcoming public holidays on 27 April and 2 May.

This, according to Pikitup spokesperson, Jacky Mashapu who said residents whose refuse collection coincided with these public holidays are advised to put out their bins for collection as per their normal refuse schedule.

All 42 gardens sites will be fully operational during these public holidays, from 8am to 5pm. Residents who may have recyclable waste during this period should use these sites to dispose of such waste. After these holidays, normal refuse collection rounds will continue in accordance with the normal collection schedule.

“Remember, waste is not simply something we throw away, it has economic value in the recycling economy,” added Mashapu. “The City of Johannesburg is your home. Don’t trash it. Recycle, reuse and reduce.”
