‘No salary, no survival’ – Oakbay employees march to banks
JOBURG - Oakbay Investments employees marched to FNB, Absa and Standard Bank in the Joburg CBD on 26 April to appeal the decision by those banks to close their employer's accounts.
Employees brandished placards reading ‘Save Oakbay jobs’ and ‘No salary, no survival’.
Oakbay employees plan to hand over their memorandum to representatives of the three banks today.
They are attempting to save their jobs by asking banks to re-open their employer’s accounts.
Many Twitter users have empathised with the plight of Oakbay’s employees and employees have taken to social media themselves to talk about their consequences of the banks closing the accounts.
