DIEPSLOOT - Another woman dies in Diepsloot due to lack of services by the City.

A Diepsloot woman died on 24 April when her shack burnt down.

The exact circumstances surrounding Beatrice Mhlongo’s death are still unclear and the cause of the fire has not yet been identified.

Fourways Review only managed to establish that the 39-year-old from Ext 12 died after her shack caught fire. She is survived by

her 80-year-old pensioner boyfriend and two daughters, whose ages were not divulged.

Diepsloot councillor, Refilwe Mathebula lamented the death of the woman. “The poor are dying just like that due to poor service delivery. Such deaths could be avoided easily,” said Mathebula, who pointed out that she was not trying to politicise the woman’s death.

Investigations are underway.
