History will break your heart

Giselle

The ballet, which celebrates its 175-year anniversary, is about a peasant girl named Giselle who dies of a broken heart after discovering her lover is betrothed to another. See the Joburg Ballet company perform the classic ballet at Joburg Theatre until 17 April.

I See You

A collaboration between the Market Theatre and London’s Royal Court Theatre, I See You, is playwright Mongiwekhaya’s tale of trauma and injustice in post-apartheid South Africa. The production is filled with tension, violence and psychological pain from the get go. Catch the riveting show at Market Theatre until 1 May.

Spread the Bread

Join the crowd and make sandwiches for the hungry in the community at the Centre of Happiness on Sunday, 17 April. Each month, organisers choose a recipient for the sandwiches that are made on the day. This month the sandwiches will go to the Tshepo Project feeding scheme and someone from the project will be there to give sandwich-makers a little more info.
