For as long as Jaggaz can remember, music has always been a part of his life. He started at the age of seven by joining a local church choir in Lagos where he played musical instruments, favouring drum sets and the piano, and at the same time doing a lot of vocal work.

The Afro-pop sensation says coming up from a middle-class background and experiencing what less-privileged people go through is what inspired him to do more.

“I want to help other people. I came from a difficult background and I want to do something for everyone around me,” Jaggaz said.

Jaggaz is fast becoming a household name in the South African music scene for his interesting vocals and versatility.

He has just released a new single titled, Vodka & Panties, featuring young gifted producer, Gemini Major. Vodka & Panties is a dancehall party song which shows Jaggaz’s versatility as a musician to create music in different genres.

People can expect a lot from this singer as he is set to release his album this year.

“My album is dropping in August and people can expect dance music, hip-hop and Afro-pop in the album. I have worked with Heavy K and Gemini Major, to name a few,” he said.

Jaggaz admitted that being an upcoming artist is not easy as you have to consistently prove your worth. “Young artists should learn to work hard, they need to know who they are and the market they want to target. The more you do, the better you become, hard work is the only way,” explained Jaggaz.

Having worked with some of the industry’s heavyweights, Jaggaz says he still has a lot to offer and would love to collaborate with a lot more artists which include AKA, Ricky Rick and Khuli Chana.

“I am inspired by these guys, they are more about sending a good message to the people, which is what I also do,” Jaggaz concluded.
