ALEXANDRA - Alexandra fans of Spanish side, Real Madrid, may get to see their idol, Cristiano Ronaldo, in the flesh if Nivea's sponsorship of the club can convice the team to South Africa.

This if Nivea, one of the sponsors of the football team, can persuade the soccer giants to visit South Africa.
Nivea Men’s brand manager, Inez Valjeez was non-committal on bringing one of the top sides of La Liga to the country but left the door open.
“Why not, if there is a need and demand for the team, we could look into that aspect in the future,” he said.
Real’s institutional director, Emilio Butra Gufno, was equally non-committal and said the team’s visit to South Africa would depend on a gap being found in their tight domestic and international calendar.
“I will definitely relay the South African request to the club president and we will just take it from there and see whether our beloved South African fans can have the opportunity to rub shoulders with their idols,” said Gufno.
Real is popular in South Africa, in particular, Alexandra, which even has a local football club known as Real Madrid, a team which plies its trade in the Alexandra Northrand Local Football Association.
