Meet Mrs SA hopeful

PAULSHOF – Paulshof resident, Semone Skosan is a Mrs South Africa semi-finalist with plans to focus on neighbourhood enhancement, people with special needs, senior citizens, the homeless, animal cruelty and preserving of the environment should she be crowned queen.

“I entered the competition because of the inspiration I receive from my husband, Courtnall Skosan, who is a professional sportsman. He is a role model to many young men around the world and I believe that this platform would give me the opportunity to do the same for young womEn in the country,” Skosan said.

She explained that her journey in the competition has been life changing for her as she feels that it is important for one to become a better version of oneself. “I am loving each and every moment of this journey and it has opened my eyes to all the opportunities out there for one to make a difference,” she said.

Skosan’s aim is to help create awareness on a healthy lifestyle, healthy relationships and a healthy mind. Not only will she assist her current charity, the Door of Hope Children’s Mission, but she hopes to also represent Cansa with pride and contribute in a positive way which will help inspire others to get involved. Her goal is to remain selfless, to learn as much as she can and make a difference wherever she goes.

“I also feel that this platform will not only afford me the opportunity to create more awareness for the charity that I am currently involved in but I would also be able to share my testimony. I believe if I reach just one life, I will have fulfilled my purpose,” she expressed.

Skosan works for a media company in Sandton and is responsible for sales and public relations, aside from that, she has her own commercial blog and does freelance public relations. She is also a third-year student of industrial and organisational psychology.

“To me, I am already a winner because, even though I do not know what lies ahead, I took a leap of faith and stepped out of my comfort zone by entering.

“Winning would mean that I have given it my all and remained selfless in the process – and it would be great to have a beautiful crown and sash! But I believe that I am on this journey for a purpose. I am proud and happy with my efforts and will hopefully make my family and country proud.

“I would also appreciate the support and votes from community members in this competition.”
