JRA to install 4-way stop in Kya Sand

KYA SAND – Following a site visit by the Johannesburg Roads Agency traffic engineers, it was decided that a four-way stop would be installed at the intersection of Spesbona and North roads in Kya Sand.

This after it was found that the sight distance in both east and west directions is very poor from the side roads; and numerous complaints from residents about speeding cars.

Spokesperson for the agency, Bertha Peters-Scheepers confirmed that the regional depot would shortly be implementing the new four-way stop, however, she was unable to give the exact date.

Ward 96 councillor Matome Mafokwane explained that although speed humps would’ve been a better alternative, it was a good initiative from the JRA.
