UPDATE: Douglasdale resident shot dead in home; intensive manhunt for suspects underway
DOUGLASDALE - A major police operation is underway to arrest suspects who shot and killed a Douglasdale resident on the evening of 4 February.

Douglasdale Community Policing Forum chairperson Jean Berdou confirmed that a male Douglasdale resident succumbed to wounds from a gun shot at his home on the evening of 4 February.
Berdou said two suspects committed the armed house invasion and stole various items. They also attempted to steal a vehicle on the property but were unsuccessful.
Berdou said an intensive manhunt for the two suspects is in progress.

4 February, 9.41pm:
Chairperson of the Douglasdale Community Policing Forum Jean Berdou said the man was killed during an attempted hijacking. He said the suspects subsequently fled into the bushes and police were searching for them.
At this time it is unknown to Fourways Review how many suspects were involved in the crime.
