Market on Main celebrates its fifth anniversary
JOHANNESBURG – It’s bound to be a howling good time as Market on Main in Johannesburg celebrates its fifth birthday on 23 January … which happens to be a full moon!
Market on Main usually takes place every Sunday at the fabulous Arts on Main in downtown Jozi and gathers an interesting crowd, thanks to its delicious variety of regional food products and trendy local design. Everything from fresh bread and creamy ice cream, to funky shirts and gorgeous handmade jewellery are on sale.
In order to celebrate five years of this bustling market, a Full Moon Night Market will be held.
Although the organisers are keeping us waiting with details on what’s lined up for the bash, there’s no doubt that you’ll have a ton to do and shop for.
Market on Main opened in 2011 with the aim to encourage a trendy lifestyle within the inner city and to give visitors a relaxed, creative space where they can shop, mingle and trade.
There may be a Full Moon Night Market on 23 January, from 7pm to 11pm, but there will also be the regular Sunday market on 24 January from 10am to 3pm.
