Bryanston High impresses with 100% pass rate

BRYANSTON – The Bryanston High School matric class of 2015 did the school proud by achieving a 100 percent pass rate with their matric results.

 

The results also saw the school get a 76.47 percent bachelors pass in 2015 while 11 pupils achieved five or more distinctions.

This year’s top achiever was Cameron Matthews who got eight distinctions in English, Afrikaans, mathematics, life science, business studies, geography, life orientation and physical science.

His impressive achievement was followed by Tamara Mushani and Nikheel Meghraj’s achievements, with each getting seven distinctions.

Mushani got distinctions in English, Afrikaans, mathematics, life science, business studies, history, life orientation and physical science while Meghraj got distinctions in English, Afrikaans, mathematics, life orientation, accounting, life science and physical science.

Tsz-Yin Chen, Daniel Salgado and Xiao Fei Wang also did the school proud, achieving six distinctions each, while Annemarie Maritz (Els), Shayur Arijune, Alyssa Paul, Kathryn Pike and Kganya Rapoo each got five distinctions.

John Skelton, principal of Bryanston High expressed pride at the pass rate, and said that achieving better results overall has also made the teachers proud.

“Much effort has gone into the 2015 group and the results thereof show the dedication of our pupils and teachers,” he said.

“On behalf of the school, I wish the 2015 group the best of luck in their chosen careers and we will follow their progress with keen interest.”

The 2015 matric results were announced on 5 January by the Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga, and were released to pupils on 6 January 2016.
