FCF shall not fail in these endeavours. FCF has noted the various responses on the provision of fibre to the home and 4G Cellular Network Coverage in the Lonehill, Beverley and adjacent areas, and comments as follows:

  •  There is no doubt that provision of fibre optic and improved 4G cellular data coverage to homes, offices and businesses in the above areas to enhance business, security and entertainment capabilities are in everyone’s best interests.
  •  Change often involves discomfort and concern. This is understandable, especially where homes and businesses are affected. Communication and participation in such processes are essential and to be encouraged. Where the rights of a few have been adversely affected, every reasonable effort to address those concerns must be made.
  •  FCF is delighted to learn about, and fully endorses, the formation of an ad hoc committee consisting of residents, and cellular and fibre optic industry professionals to address the issues of the provision of enhanced 4G cellular and fibre to the home services in part of the Fourways area. FCF fully supports and shall make detailed submissions to the committee in due course and shall further offer capacity on its systems capabilities to assist with the project rollouts.
  •  It’s obvious that in order for the enhanced 4G and fibre to the home to be provided, certain infrastructure would need to be installed, and in the case of the fibre much of this has already been completed. To simply oppose the provision of these enhanced services is to eschew advancement.
  •  The issue is that of the best possible methods of delivery of such enhanced services to enable such methodology, yet retain the aesthetics and appeal of the areas in question.
  •  In this regard, FCF urges the multi-service via the same delivery mechanism approach, rather than each service provider installing their own dedicated delivery systems, thus avoiding substantial duplication of systems
  •  FCF urges all to participate in the process with the view to obtaining the best possible solution for the area’s residents and businesses, and not to allow other agendas to cloud the issues.
