According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene to find the taxi on the grass island between the two highways lying on its roof.
Meiring said that upon assessment, paramedics found that two men had sustained fatal injuries which occurred when they were ejected from the vehicle.
13 other patients were found on scene, six of them were critically injured. Paramedics began treatment and provided the critically injured patients with advanced life support interventions.
“Once treated, the patients were rushed to various hospitals in the area for urgent medical treatment. “The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations,” Meiring concluded.
