Major traffic disruptions to take place on M1 highway

JOBURG - The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) will conduct a tour of the M1 freeway bridges on 16 November.

The bridges will undergo two projects totaling R210 million which will give the bridges a new lease on life.

Both projects are associated with stormwater drainage and form part of the City of Joburg’s R365 million programme that commenced in August 2015 to upgrade the M1 and M2 freeways and the Soweto Highway, rehabilitate aging infrastructure and enhance road safety to improve mobility.

The projects are expected to take 15 months to complete.

Joburg residents will be informed of traffic disruptions during this period.
