Fourways Mall pleads customers’ patience during construction process

FOURWAYS - Fourways Mall owners and management have tried to minimise the disruption for their customers during the current construction work.

This included prioritising the construction of the two new multi-level parkades and relocating the taxi rank to free up an additional 520 parking bays.

Development manager of Fourways Precinct, Tony Koupis said, “Within eight months, abundant parking will be available. In the meantime, customers can make use of the new parking in and around the Game store, as well as the existing parking adjacent to the Game store.

“It was agreed through our discussions with the taxi associations, that the taxis be temporarily relocated to the area situated on the corner of Roos Street and Fourways Boulevard as six taxi associations are operating from there.”

One of the taxi drivers who covers the route between Alexandra and Fourways, Peter Machuba said, “The business side of things is going well as usual, we drop off customers at the centre and then we come back to park here. The area is very spacious and good for all the taxi associations but we only have three issues; there is no shade, water or a place to sit.”

Owners and management of the Fourways Mall wished to thank customers for their patience and understanding during the initial phase of construction and assured them that the end result would be worth the disruption now. The scope of the project included a massive improvement of the existing mall, and the development of additional retail space to facilitate top local and international brands.

In addition to the retail centre, a substantial improvement to roads and services in the area would be undertaken which would alleviate the majority of traffic frustrations experienced in the Fourways area.
