Spruit Day clean-up

PAULSHOF - Paulshof Residents and Ratepayers Association, community organisations and businesses held a Spruit Day clean-up as they took to parts of Braamfontein Spruit between Paulshof and Sunninghill.

Ward 93 councillor Annette Deppe said the clean-up was a fantastic initiative, especially seeing all the different community organisations come together to support a common cause.

“It is lovely to see people spend one or two hours from their day to help clean the spruit,” she said.

“It means a lot that people care about community initiatives.”

City Parks’ Jenny Moodley paid tribute to the organisers, residents, businesses, security companies and the media for taking part in the annual Spruit Day clean-up.

She added that it was heart-warming to see so many residents enjoying the day out with their families and neighbours.

“This initiative is not just about reclaiming the integrity of our public spaces but also about bringing people together to work as a collective,” said Moodley.

“To the many people that made this day a huge success, thank you on behalf of the City and all the users of the spruit.”
