CPF cleans up Douglasdale

LONEHILL - As part of Clean-Up SA and Recycle Week, Douglasdale Sector 4 Community Policing Forum (CPF) conducted a clean-up on William Nicol Drive.

The team’s clean-up operation started outside Humble Harry’s in Leaping Frog Shopping Centre on the corner of Mulbarton Road and William Nicol Drive, as they went from intersection to intersection picking up litter and cleaning away grime and filth.

The forum’s chairperson, David Foley said after various complaints from Sector 4 residents, the forum decided to mobilise night guards, remove illegal hawkers, clean up litter and illegal signage, remove illegal street vendors and monitor taxi drivers’ behaviour.

“The clean-up is to show the public the effort by the CPF in conjunction with the police, Metro police and security companies to clean up the grime and crime. We have conducted previous operations in the area and we have seen them as very essential for the area,” said Foley.

He urged the community to help keep the area clean by refraining from littering.
