Paws R Us raises awareness of homeless animals

BRYANSTON - As countries recently commemorated International Homeless Animal Day, Midrand-based organisation Paws R Us visited Bryneven Primary School and played their part to raise awareness of homeless animals.

The visit to the Bryanston school took place on 17 August as part of the organisation’s 8 Schools, 8 Hours, 1 Global Cause initiative, which started as a way to raise awareness for homeless animals in South Africa.

The pupils also hosted a civvies day to aid the non-profit organisation in their fundraising efforts.

The organisation, along with canine conservation unit Pit Track, also visited eight other schools around Gauteng on their civvies days, including Edenglen Primary School and Orkney High School, and gave a presentation on the initiative.

Paws R Us is an organisation focused on aiding in the rescue and re-homing of unwanted, abused and neglected animals while Pit Track is a canine conservation organisation specialising in the protection of Rhinos.
