Bryanston Sports Club bowlers play outstanding bowls

BRYANSTON - Bryanston Sports Club bowlers triumphed at the Bowls Winter League.

After six weeks of the league, Tony Mazaris, a member of the Bryanston club’s committee, said any one of the five teams participating had a big chance to win, with only a few points separating all of them.

“In the end it was the strong side of Morgan Muvhango, his brother Wilson, Prince Neluonde and Victor Siphali who triumphed over the field,” said Mazaris.

He said it was no surprise that the team performed so well, as three of the members were part of the South African Gold Squad, which was a squad of the top 16 players in the country. “The fourth player, Wilson, has just won the Sables District’s Masters title.”

Mazaris said the tournament had been running successfully for a number of years. “It is wonderful to see new blood coming to the fore,” he added.

“The club thanks all the sponsors who continually support this tournament – Warwick, Broadlink, Thundergun, Spur, Mike’s Kitchen, Scottish Leader, J’s Diner, SAB Miller, The Ribbon Collection and Bosco Italian Restaurant.”

He said without the support, the tournament would not be the success that it was.
