Pupil excels in duathlon

BEAULIEU - BEAULIEU Preparatory School pupil Max Benade came fourth at the Gauteng Duathlon Championship in the U12-13 category held at Germiston Lake.

 

Benade said sport had made him a better person. “I am focused and disciplined even at school,” he said. “I enjoy the running and cycling part of the competition. I have completed seven triathlons.”

His mother, Monique Fourie said she was very proud of him and said he started showing a keen interest in sport from a very young age. “Our family is very active in sports,” she said. “It is amazing to see the heights he has reached, we are proud of him.”

Benade has been chosen to compete in the Central Gauteng team for the SA Championships Duathlon which will be held in Bloemfontein on 5 July.
