Botshabelo invites residents to help out

CROWTHORNE - Botshabelo, a charity that cares for orphans and runs educational programmes for children in the surrounding community, is inviting Midrand residents to take part in their Mandela Day initiative on 18 July.

The charity’s funding co-ordinator, Michelle Hinrichsen said, “Help us fill 67 square metres with donations in honour of Mandela’s 67 years in prison. We will partner with the stores in the Carlswald Shopping Centre so you can shop at Spar or Dischem and buy a Botshabelo pack which is full of requested donated items which the stores know about and drop it in our square on the day.”

She added that the shopping centre has agreed to give the organisation 67 square metres of the parking lot to use for free. The event will be from 9am to 3pm. On 17 July at a pre-Mandela Day event, Botshabelo will welcome corporates who wish to get involved with Botshabelo for Mandela Day at Botshabelo’s premises. For more information, contact Michelle Hinrichsen at [email protected] or 011 702 2141.
