Celebs in slippers make dreams come true

FOURWAYS – Local celebs all slipped on their favourite slippers and headed over to the Wimpy at Fourways Mall on 25 June for the Slipper Day campaign launch.

South Africans are once again being urged to wear their slippers and stickers on Slipper Day on 7 August. The initiative was implemented by Reach for a Dream in order to raise funds and awareness for children who suffer from life-threatening diseases.

Supporters have the right to wear their slippers to work, school and even the mall without being judged, but only if they buy a R10 Slipper Day sticker from their closest Wimpy branch. Another bonus is if supporters wear their stickers and slippers on the day and pop into Wimpy – they’ll get a free cup of regular coffee!

Karabo Morudu, Wimpy brand manager said, “Last year stickers sold through Wimpy outlets resulted in just over R1.1 million in funds for Reach For A Dream and this year we would like to sell even more stickers to our loyal customers to further aid this non-profit organisation.”

“All funds and proceeds raised through the our Slipper Day campaign will help put a smile on the faces of the foundation’s Dream Children,” said Bronwyn Feldwick-Davis from Reach For A Dream.

Purchase a R10 sticker from any Wimpy from 1 July until 7 August.
