Kyalami billionaire facing a R35-million lawsuit

KYALAMI - A KYALAMI billionaire is facing a R35 million civil lawsuit from seven individuals who are accusing the stockbroker of sexually abusing them for 30 years.

Eyewitness News made the sensational revelation on 22 June.

EWN reported that Sidney Frankel was being taken to court by seven men who are seeking R5 million each.

The online publication alleges that the complainants claim that Frankel molested them between the 70s and 80s.

The publication said lawyers acting for the seven individuals confirmed that the documents were served on Frankel’s attorney’s office this morning.

“The group has spent several months compiling the claim, they’re all aged in their early 40s and allege the billionaire stockbroker and philanthropist sexually assaulted them when they were young children,” reads part of the Eyewitness New story.

Eyewitness News said the alleged incidents apparently took place at Frankel’s Kyalami farm, his farm in Mpumalanga and his home in Abbotsford in Johannesburg.

It is alleged that one of the complainants was a resident at the Arcadia Jewish Children’s Home at the time. The period to criminally charge Frankel has lapsed and this is why the plaintiffs have to pursue a civil route. Eyewitness News said Frankel’s lawyer declined to answer media queries.
