Pizza for police

DOUGLASDALE – Staff at Douglasdale Police Station were pleasantly surprised when a fleet of Domino’s Pizza delivery men pulled into the station, each with a stack of delicious pizzas for everyone to share.

The reason behind the impromptu visit by the franchise was their Pay a Smile Forward campaign, which allowed its patrons to nominate others who make a difference in society to receive free pizza for life.

Station commander Brigadier Lettie Hugo welcomed both her personnel and Domino’s staff, and said this was done to honour a very special employee at the station. She then introduced Caitlyn Anley from Domino’s Pizza’s marketing team to make the official announcement.

“We are trying to pay smiles forward through our competition and we asked our loyal customers on social media to nominate someone who they feel deserves a smile or a reward. We’ve been going around the country delivering pizza to those nominated,” stated Anley.

“Constable Bernicia Subroyan is one of our bigger winners and she was nominated because a friend of hers felt that she is the most lovely, generous and kind person who is most deserving of being rewarded.

“So we decided we’ll come here today and give everyone pizza on behalf of Constable Subroyan.”

The Domino’s staff then performed their official cheer before handing warm, delicious pizza to everyone in attendance.
