Spurring on unity

BROADACRES – Pupils from Unity College on Cedar Road were treated to a family fundraiser on 5 May by Greywolf Spur and by the looks of it, had a jolly good time.

Senior phase pupils even got the opportunity to shadow waiters while the restaurant donated 10 percent of their takings from the evening to the school.

“We wanted to give the children the opportunity to stand in a waiter’s shoes and also to learn more about the hospitality industry,” said Greywolf Spur manager Sixto Khanyi. “We feel that the evening went very well and the children were amazing.”

Unity College representative Michelle Kirk was thrilled with the successful evening as all had a wonderful time. “Thank you to everyone who came out to support our fundraiser and well done to our senior pupils for the great job they did, they had such confidence,” Kirk said excitedly.

“To the gentleman (who wanted to remain anonymous) that donated R500 ‘just because’, a sincere thank you.”

Kirk further wanted to express her gratitude to Greywolf Spur for their venue, superb staff and the opportunity to host the fundraiser. “We felt so spoilt.”
