Fun things to do and visit in the Fourways area

FOURWAYS - The greater Fourways area has many awesome and fun things to do.

We often forget that there are great experiences just waiting to happen literally in our backyards. Fourways Review has put together the top five places and things to do and visit in the area.

  • Montecasino

Montecasino hosts a casino floor as well as some of the best restaurants and eateries in town. The bird gardens onsite holds numerous exotic and local birdlife and therefore both adults and kids will be entertained. The Tuscan décor and feel will transport you away to a foreign land without even jumping on an aeroplane.

  • The Fourways Farmers Market

This boho-chic market has recently sprung up on the social scene. It is located on the corner of William Nicol Drive and Montecasino Boulevard. With a live bohemian band playing in the background and the best in local artisan food and craft beer, this is a treat for the young hipster. The market promotes young entrepreneurs to come out and showcase their culinary, brewery and arts and craft talents. The market is only open on Sundays from 9am and dogs are welcome.

  • The Kyalami Race Track

The recent sale of the track left motorheads in a panic, but with new owners Porsche, the track has still remained in its tail-spinning glory. The track is home to many superbike and supercar schools. The public is still welcome to visit the track on race days.

  • Kyalami night cycle

Hosted and organised by Darryl Van Niekerk, the cycle is held on the first Tuesday of every month. The cycle according to Van Niekerk is aimed at bringing together the community while taking advantage of the amazing eco-life in the Kyalami conservancy. The public is welcome to bring along their picnic baskets.

  • Lonehill Park Run

Organised and hosted by the Lonehill Residents’ Association, the 5km run welcomes all ages both men and women to join every Saturday morning at 8am. The run is aimed to get the community fit as well as providing a platform for members of the community to meet.
