Rescues looking for forever homes

FOURWAYS- Pet Empowerment in Townships has a number of rescue dogs up for adoption.

The a non-profit organisation works with township communities to improve the lives of neglected animals by giving them daily meals, shelter, regular inoculations, sterilisations and veterinary care in emergencies.

Laura Whittaker from the organisation told Fourways Review about two dogs rescued recently. “Shandy was rescued from Weilers farm township, he developed a nasty skin infection and demodectic mange, a skin disease passed on from his mother, which he is now being treated for,” she said.

Shandy is currently in foster care and doing extremely well and his skin condition has improved drastically, said Whittaker. The five-month-old is a large breed and is full of energy but extremely sweet and loving. He is looking for a forever home.

Like Shandy, Gremi was rescued from a township. The sweet 10-week-old is rambunctious and full of personality. Whittaker said they are unsure what her adult size will be, but she is definitely a crowd pleaser. Gremi is looking for a loving home. Anyone interested in adopting can contact the organisation via email.
