Show some care for orphaned primates

DOUGLASDALE - The Care Centre for Animal Rehabilitation needs the public's help to continue its good work with primates.

The centre was established in 1989 on the banks of the Olifants River in Limpopo South Africa. It currently houses about 500 baboons, and is one of the only sanctuaries that has experience in giving refuge to orphaned and injured baboons in South Africa.

Irene McKenzie, Douglasdale resident and Care representative said the centre was desperately in need of pots, pans, cutlery, plates and mugs for the many volunteers who work at the organisation.

For the baby primates which they nurture and rehabilitate, the centre needs Nan or S26 milk formula, baby bottles, teets and nappies.

McKenzie has a drop-off point at her house on 553 Topaas Road, Douglasdale, opposite the Douglasdale Police Station.
