New response team joins fight against crime
DOUGLASDALE - The Douglasdale Community Policing Forum is pleased to announce a series of new initiatives to improve policing and leave past difficulties behind.
This according to chairperson of the forum Jean Berdou.
He said the new initiatives would be announced over the next few weeks, but the first of these plans took the form of a new area response team that is equipped with state of the art high-speed vehicles and tactical equipment.
Berdou said the unit had already become operational and was under the command of Captain Fritz Kriel.
He said the forum was confident that this initiative would achieve successful results in the fight against crime and that the unit would contribute greatly to ensuring the safety of the community in the precinct.
