Ready, set, go for Sunflower Fund fun run
JOBURG - Residents should get their running shoes laced and their water bottles topped up in anticipation of the Sunflower Fund's second annual fun run.
The Sunflower Fund is a non-profit organisation with a vision to give all South Africans diagnosed with leukaemia and other life-threatening blood disorders the chance of life, irrespective of their race and financial circumstances.
The public may also assist The Sunflower Fund by making a financial contribution, however more importantly, absolutely anyone can become a life-saving donor by joining the South African Bone Marrow Registry. The process to join is simple and should one ever be called on as a donor, the procedure is now simplified with modern technology.
On 29 March the fund will host a 10km and a 5km run.
The aim of the event is to raise funds to enable the fund to place more donors on the registry.
The event will start at 7am and is set to be a fun family day.
