Roaring their way to victory

DAINFERN - Registrations are now open for all residents of the greater Fourways area to join the Dainfern Lions Football Club for the new season.

The club is situated in the secure environment of the Dainfern Golf and Country Estate.

“We invite all current and any potential new members to come down and see our facilities and meet our staff,” said Nic Papas, chairman of the club.

Training starts on 2 February and there will be three free training sessions. The club accepts players from ages three to 34, and older, to join the club as they are registered to compete in the Rand Central Football Association competitions from U9. The club also hosts their own internal league.

“Dainfern Lions Football Club is one of very few clubs that pay all our coaches and only hire coaches appropriate for our kids and who apply a pedagogical approach when taking care of children to make sure that every player has an enjoyable experience with us while learning the fundamentals of the game of football,” said Papas.

Interested senior players, 18 years and older are encouraged to join the team, with special rates and training. Papas said it’s a world-class experience.

The head coach, Goncalo Pinto, has an international honours degree in physical education. “Goncalo has put together a technical master plan to take Dainfern Lions FC to the next level with a fundamental transformation, vision and philosophy,” said Papas.

Papas noted anyone interested in the club and their rates are welcome to email for assistance.
