Cedarwood starts with a bang

CEDARWOOD - Cedarwood Preparatory School has kicked off the year with a bang on the sports scene.

The pupils have excelled in swimming, cycling and mountain biking. Swimmer Joshua Richardson won all his events at the Gauteng Central Aquatic’s Gala which included individual medley, freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.

Richardson also participated in the Waterborn Gala and came out on top in butterfly and freestyle, and placed second in individual medley, breaststroke and backstroke.

Cyclists Tyron Simpson and Dean Carstensen, both in Grade 3 competed and completed the 5km Like-to-Bike cycle event, much to delight of their parents and the school. Another Grade 3 pupil Karl Weissenberger did his parents proud as he completed a fundamental mountain bike skills course and was awarded a certificate.
