Crawford College class of 2014’s top academic achievers scoop a collective 87 distinctions

Lonehill - The class of 2014 Crawford College matriculants aim high as top 10 pupils collected 87 distinctions between them.

The maximum amount of accolades claimed was by Grade 12 pupil Anthony Hau Yu Ngoi.

The matric prodigy has been involved in a number of extra mural activities like piano, violin and fencing since Grade 7. He managed to take home 10 distinctions. He plans on studying medicine and surgery at the University of Cape Town. Ngoi said, “I want to save peoples’ lives.”

Pupils Celine Nicol Adams was one of the recipients of eight distinctions and is preparing to study actuarial science at the University of Pretoria.

Celine Deschamps received eight distinctions and is planning on studying medicine. Deschamps said, “My parents inspire me, because they started off with no money or anything and have made a success of themselves.”

Jordan Lance Joselowitz was also able to achieve eight distinctions. He plans to study veterinary sciences at the University of Pretoria.

Helen Xiao Jiun Liu earned eight distinctions and plans to enrol in either an accounting science or actuarial science course at one of the county’s leading universities.

Foyinsola Oluwatosin Ogunrombi was one of the eight distinctions receivers. She plans on studying Bachelor of Business and marketing management. Ogunrombi said she would love to be a media brand manager.

Anne Papavarnavas scored eight distinctions. She plans on studying a Bachelor of Surgery Health Science at the University of Pretoria. Papavarnavas said, “My father is a doctor and I have grown up helping him help people and I want to do the same and make a difference.”

Gosiame Ofentse Tsotesi achieved eight distinctions. Tsotesi’s future plans include going to the University of Cape Town and studying a Bachelor of Business Management, majoring in finance with accounting.

Fabrizio Carelle plans to study chemistry with environmental science and raked in seven distinctions.

Tanya Venter attained seven distinctions and will be studying chemical engineering.

Thayuri Moodley collected seven distinctions.
