PINESLOPES - A Pineslopes apartment was one of the properties raided in a sting operation during which R5-million worth of hydroponically grown cannabis was seized.

The sting operation took place on 27 November and several houses in Sandton, Bryanston, Johannesburg and Hartebeespoort were raided.

According to Warrant Officer Balan Muthan, head of communications for Douglasdale police, 11 arrests were made during the operation relating to the dealing and cultivation of cannabis.

One of the homes that was raided was an apartment within an upmarket complex in Pineslopes. Douglasdale police, in association with the national organised crime unit, confiscated R250 000 worth of property, after they found cannabis growing inside the apartment, and arrested a 29-year-old man.
