Bronz for the animals

FOURWAYS- Singer and songwriter Bronwen Stead, better known as Bronz, took part in the Momentum 947 Cycle Challenge to raise awareness for animal welfare organisation Claw.

Claw provides quality veterinary healthcare for animals that belong to residents of impoverished areas.

The songstress has a soft spot for animals and managed to raise R4 500 for the charity.

Claw is based in Krugersdorp and also offers animal care education to township children. Stead said, “Anything to do with animals and education, and the integration of kids is pretty cool.”

Stead said she planned to ride in next year’s challenge and wanted to continue her efforts to raise funds for Claw.

A classically trained musician, Stead released her debut single All I Want Is You in August. The single is a duet between her and Idols winner Jason Hartman. The two have been touring the country promoting the single.

“He drives me nuts. I’m a planner and he’s a typical muso – laid back,” she said.

Stead is working on releasing an album and said one artist she would like to collaborate with was Lindiwe Suttle. “I saw her at the Wawela Awards and she was wearing this black lace cape, and she was lit up on stage. And when she started singing in this subdued voice, I was mesmerised,” she said.
