Man escapes unscathed from crumpled car

FOURWAYS - A man in his twenties miraculously escaped without serious injury when a truck collided into the back of his Ford on the N1 north before William Nicol Drive, Fourways on 28 November.

Shortly after 11am, paramedics found the vehicle facing oncoming traffic with a large truck standing several metres away from the wreckage.

According to ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak, bystanders on the scene explained how the truck crashed into the back of the Ford crumpling the whole back of the vehicle.

“The driver of the vehicle fortunately sustained only minor injuries and was treated on the scene before transported by another service operator to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment,” added Vermaak.

The driver of the truck was not injured in the collision.

Vermaak said if there was anyone in the back of the Ford they would have been killed during this collision.
