Pay it forward with Legacy Lifestyle

JOBURG - Legacy Lifestyle, in partnership with Mix FM, are appealing to members of the public to join them in helping spread some festive cheer by donating items for babies and toddlers in need.

Collection bins have been placed at all Joburg-based Legacy Hotels, including The Michelangelo, The DaVinci, Sunnyside Park and Centurion Lake Hotel, where people who would like to make a difference in the lives of needy children can drop off nappies, clothes, toys (both new and old) and other necessities for the Princess Alice Adoption Home.

The home, based in Westcliff, Johannesburg, serves as a temporary place of safety for 30 babies and toddlers aged new-born to two years old. The home provides 24-hour residential care to these babies, all of whom have either been consented for adoption, abandoned, neglected or removed from family care. The home is also a safe haven for pregnant girls who are destitute or in a crisis.

While at the home, the birth moms are counselled and are helped with the decision whether to keep their baby or consent for adoption. The home also ensures that these girls receive proper antenatal care and are supported throughout the birth experience.

Donations can be made until 5 December and Legacy Lifestyle and Mix FM will ensure that all donations are received by the home by 15 December, just in time for Christmas.
