Seven injured in taxi accident

FOURWAYS - Seven people were injured when a taxi collided with a manure truck and a cyclist at the corner of Kingfisher Drive and Witkoppen Road on 24 November.

ER24 also responded to the scene of the accident along with Emer-G-Med, and found the truck and taxi in one lane of Witkoppen Road.

The load of manure that the truck had been transporting was spread across the road. Paramedics began their assessment of the scene and found that seven people including a cyclist had sustained injuries ranging from minor to critical.

Paramedics began their treatment of the patients as well as providing the critically injured with advanced life support.

Once treated, paramedics transported the patients to Edenvale and Carstenhof Hospital for further treatment.

Clean-up crews were on scene to assist in removing the manure from the roads.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.

Seven people have been injured in an accident involving a taxi on Witkoppen Road.

On the morning of 24 November an accident occurred on Witkoppen Road in Fourways in which a taxi hit a pedestrian before colliding into the side of a truck.
