A spooky Saturday for Paulshof

PAULSHOF- The suburb of Paulshof was abuzz on 1 November as residents gathered to celebrate the festivities of Halloween.

Organised by the Paulshof Residents Association, the community of Paulshof came out dressed in wickedly creative outfits and fun disguises. Children of all ages and adults participated in the events which saw everyone meet and greet at the Kildrummy children’s play park in Paulshof.

Chairperson of the association Shathi Govender headed up the festivities. “This is a spectacular event and is extremely looked forward to by many in the area,” he said.

“It is so important for our residents to know their neighbours. We all live in this area and have the best interest for its upkeep, and ensuring our residents have a relationship with each other is one of them.”

One of the main attractions was the trick or treat walk around the neighbourhood. Residents decorated their houses in Halloween paraphernalia, and the children were armed with sweets and candy that could have lasted them for a week.

A best-dressed competition was held for the children and the winners in each age category were awarded prizes.

The Paulshof Halloween gathering is deemed to be annual event for the community and the association aims to make it bigger and better in the future.
