Makro requests postponement of hearing
MAGALIESSIG - The Makro Appeal Hearing has been postponed to a later date.
The purpose of the hearing is for Makro to appeal a decision made by the City of Joburg mayoral committee to deny their application to build a Makro superstore at the corner of Merrow Lane and Leslie Drive.
The appeal hearing was originally set for 17 to 19 September, however by the end of the hearing, the Magaliessig Action Forum (MAF) had not yet put forth their arguments, and only Makro’s specialists had presented. The appeal hearing was meant to pick up where it left off on 22 October, but Makro requested a postponement.
According to MAF, a new date for the continuation of the hearing had not yet been set, but it would most likely be 18 November or 1 December. MAF encouraged all residents to make time to attend the hearing once the date is set.
