Rapist and murderer to appear in court

DIEPSLOOT - The trial of the man accused of killing three children in Diepsloot will start in the High Court in Pretoria on 22 October.

The man is charged with murdering Anelisa Mkondo (5) in September last year and cousins, Yonelisa and Zandile Mali. Mkondo had been missing for two days before her body was found on a trash heap in Diepsloot with a plastic bag over her head.

The Mali cousins were found dead in a public toilet cubicle in Diepsloot Extension 1 on 15 October.

The man is also accused of raping and kidnapping the Mali cousins.

The deaths of the three girls sparked a public outcry from the Diepsloot community at the time, who lamented the deaths of the children and demanded a safer environment.
