Bryanston Country Club helps save rhinos

BRYANSTON - The Bryanston Country Club Golf Captains took a stand against rhino poaching by donating a staggering R220 000 to Unite Against Poaching.

The Golf Captains’ charity is annually nominated by the golf captains and their committees. This year the recipient of the successful charity drive was Unite Against Poaching.

The donation was the the result of various charity drives held throughout the year all driven by the encouragement of fundraising chairperson, Romy Davis. Significantly 22 September was World Rhino Day and the week ended on 26 September with the handover of the cheque from Bryanston Country Club to Unite Against Poaching.

At club’s monthly lucky draw evening, the men’s and ladies’ golf captains handed over their donation of R220 000 to be used in the fight against poaching within SANParks.

At the handover, the cheque was received by Snowy Botha, vice-chairperson of the Conservation Services of the SANParks Honorary Rangers.
