Residents sweat it out for charity

FOURWAYS - Fourways Crossing hosted a Sweat for Charity aerobics marathon in aid of the Eye of the Tiger charity.

The fitness classes, held in the parking area of the shopping centre, were sponsored by Viva Gym, the new workout destination at Fourways Crossing. Viva Gym will soon be opening at the upper level of Fourways Crossing. Shoppers, families and friends were invited to register for the marathon and join in the various classes, which included kickboxing, zumba and a special ‘move’ class which is a new exciting high impact workout. The aerobics marathon served to raise funds for The Eye of the Tiger Rugby Training Academy.

The initiative was founded by Viwe Qegu in 2011 and aims to harness and train a ready pool of rugby talented youth, future administrators, physiotherapists, fitness trainers, coaches and referees. The aim of the high performance training academy is to ensure the continuous development of the youth and to bring young sport enthusiasts from previously disadvantaged communities and schools in South Africa, especially rural and townships, to the academy.
