‘Sterling work by Douglasdale Sector 4 police’

DOUGLASDALE - Sector 4 Community Policing Forum chairman, David Foley has praised excellent crime prevention work by police.

Foley commended the efforts of Constable Maqhawe Dhlodlo, sector commander for Sector 4, and his colleague, Captain Fritz Kriel, in conducting visible police operations around Douglasdale to deter would-be criminals in the area.

Recent operations by police in Douglasdale include the removal of illegal immigrants and vendors from parks and open veld, stop and search operations for illegal weapons, and roadblocks to arrest drunk drivers and enforce licensed taxi routes. In addition, police have staked out shopping centres, on the lookout for remote jamming and theft out of motor vehicles, as well as increasing their visibility by means of regular and thorough patrols.

“Maq [Constable Dhlodlo] has been an absolute star and he is always online and available to help even whilst on leave,” said Foley.

Police will continue their efforts in Douglasdale in future weeks, with a number of operations planned for the month of September.
