Car jamming on the rise in Kyalami

KYALAMI- A suspected car jamming incident occurred at a shopping centre in Kyalami on 28 August.

Midrand police communications officer Constable Matome Tlamela said according to the victim she had parked at the centre and locked her car. When she returned her car was seemingly in order, and she placed her goods in her boot and drove off. However, when she reached home she realised her laptop was missing.

Tlamela said footage from CCTV was recovered. Midrand Police Station confirmed that a red Ford Fiesta with registration CP65MMGP drove into the parking area of the shopping centre and parked next to the victim’s car. A man alighted from the car and opened the complainant’s passenger door and stole the laptop. He said no force entry was used and no arrests have been made. The police have encouraged the public to come forth with any information regarding this suspect and car.
