Guide dogs mascot turns seven
PAULSHOF - Marketing mascot for the South African Guide Dogs Association, O'Reilly celebrated his seventh birthday on 18 August.
Guide dog and best friend to marketing director Pieter van Niekerk, O’Reilly celebrated his birthday in style with close two-legged family members and many fury friends at Gladys Evans Training Centre.
Although he is now close to 50 in human years, O’Reilly was eager to join in on all his birthday celebrations. A beautiful red and black cake was sponsored by Bob Martin and lapped up by O’Reilly and his fury guests.
The birthday boy spent the afternoon fast asleep under a desk after eating yummy cakes and everything he isn’t usually allowed.
According to Van Niekerk, it was the best birthday party O’Reilly had ever and he will remember it for a long time. Members of the association were also present and helped O’Reilly celebrate the day.
Van Niekerk said, “O’Reilly is still a vivacious and charismatic dog who loves attention and people.”
The day was a success and both O’Reilly and his guests had a stupendous day filled with doggy yawns and cake.
