Dainfern College reaches out

DAINFERN - Dainfern College served their community with an outreach project that made a difference in the lives of those less privileged than themselves.

The college has been involved in work like this since it was first launched.

The Grade 0 pupils were asked to select a book or educational toy and donate it to underprivileged children. They also baked and packed rusks for the different creches supported by the college. The junior preparatory pupils all donated R10 which was used to buy ingredients to make cupcakes and hot dogs which were also distributed to creches in the college’s outreach scheme.

In the senior preparatory, the Grade 4 pupils made bookmarks and collected books, blankets, beanies and toys for distribution.

And the Grade 5 pupils knitted squares and made small blankets to be distributed to the Grade 0s at Reshomile Primary in Diepsloot.

The Grade 6 pupils spent time making educational board games for Grade 6 pupils also at Reshomile Primary.

While the Grade 7’s joined the high school section of Dainfern College in a mass outreach event organised by the Parents’ Association. This event saw parents, pupils and staff make hundreds of scarves and hand warmers for the children of Reshomile.
