Children play safely thanks to GIBB

DIEPSLOOT - Leading South African black-owned engineering consulting firm GIBB spent 67 minutes in Refilwe, Diepsloot this Mandela Day.

GIBB engineers evoked the spirit of Madiba on 18 July. A team of volunteers invested their time and efforts moving and recreating a playground in Refilwe in Diepsloot, and put a smile on the faces of the community’s children.

“This community is close to our hearts,” said Yolande van Rooyen, the company’s marketing practitioner “We believe moving the playground to a more secure and safer foundation will allow for a better playing environment.”

Some of the company’s employees have gone even further to support the community. Engineer James Pollock lives on site and has made a commitment to take care of three children from Refilwe. “Our engineers really worked as a team and we trust that our support to this community will bring joy to the children of Refilwe,” added Van Rooyen.
