Singing sisters reach for the stars

DAINFERN - Dainfern College pupils Isabel and Julia van Geldern will represent South Africa in the Applause Rising Talent Showcase convention in Orlando, Florida in June this year.

The sisters were scouted by Kim Myers, an American talent scout during the International Talent Showcase held at Montecasino in October last year. Their competing categories in the convention will be acting, singing and modelling.

Julia (18) has been singing for eight years while Isabel (16) started singing six years ago. The sisters take modelling, singing and acting lessons and both of them have competed in the National Eisteddfod competition every year. Julia also participated in the first episode of The Big Break talent search.

Julia and Isabel were also cast as extra’s in a Coca-Cola commercial to be aired in Russia and Kazakhstan.

At the convention Isabel and Julia will be showcasing their talents in front of more than 50 agents, casting directors, managers and producers.
